School Record Broken in Boys’ CC
Kayden Thomas set a new school record for the Prattville Lions in the 5K cross country event, finishing with a remarkable time of 16:09. This performance not only underscores Thomas's individual talent but also reflects the growing strength of the team under Coach Caitlin Campbell. Coach Campbell noted that the squad appeared more cohesive than in previous years, which is evident in their overall performance. The Lions showcased their depth with several strong finishes, including Antonio Rowland, who made an impressive debut at Prattville High School, clocking in at 18:49. Caedmon Craig also contributed to the team's success with a solid time of 19:37. The boys placed 3rd overall.
In addition to the boys' strong showings, the girls' team also had notable performances. Nimue Craig led the girls’ team and finished at 22:13, earning a top 10 finish in her race while Lily Downey also finished strong with a time of 24:06. The Lions are poised for further success as they prepare for their next meet in Montevallo hosted by Thompson on Thursday, September 3rd.
